Skills & Fitness guide to mountain biking with Unbeaten Adventures

In this guide you can find the fitness & skill level required for joining Unbeaten Adventures rides. We don’t offer rides for beginners. However if you like to learn to ride more technical terrain, let us know and we can offer you a skills clinic.

At the bottom of every guided service( trail, enduro, backcountry) on the website you find the requirements for the the type of riding in red. If you are doubting if you have the skill and fitness level to take part in one of our guiding days, please send us an e-mail or call us. I am happy to help you out.

Skills

Beginner: You started mountain biking recently or you have ridden for longer but your experience is mainly on wider paths, such as fire roads and/ or easier singletracks with out much obstacles.

Intermediate: You love to ride singletracks but nothing to technical although you don’t mind an obstacle or two. If it gets steeper, more rocky and technical you might walk some sections.

Advanced: You have experience with mountain bike holidays abroad or at least you have experience riding technical natural trails with confidence. You rarely have to get of the bike.

Expert: In addition to advanced you know how to ride long technical high mountain descents, you know what it takes to tackle an backcountry adventure, with hike-a-bikes and descending on loose and steep terrain.

Fitness

Recreational: You are able to climb at least 500 -700 meter per day on your bike and ride 4-5 hours in day with (lunch)breaks in between at a intermediate pace

Sports: Climbing 700 - 1200 meter a day is not a problem for you. You are able to tackle 5-7 hour days in the saddle with (lunch)breaks. You ride at intermediate to fast pace.

Racer: You ride your enduro races on a regular bases. You know what it takes to be long days in the the saddle. You have plenty energy left for the descent after a long climb.
